Tom
Fowlston is President and owner of A V Pro, Inc. which he and a former business
partner incorporated in February of 1985. Toms background includes education
in electronics, mass communications, and audio facility/media systems design.
His practical experience includes a year of commercial broadcasting, three years
as a Broadcast Specialist in the United States Army, including one year with the
American Forces Vietnam Network and the remainder of his Army career as an instructor
at the Defense Information School. Tom graduated in the top 2% from Defense Information
School and achieved the rank of Specialist 5th Class during his Army career. Tom
holds the distinction of having announced the final live radio newscast before
the closing of AFVN in Saigon, Vietnam.
Tom moved to Dallas
in 1974 to serve as a National Meetings Coordinator and Operations Manager of
Bauer Audio Video where he managed all phases of audio-visual systems design and
convention coordination. During his eight-year tenure with Bauer, Tom produced
sound, video, & lighting for shows in virtually every major convention center
and hotel in North America. In 1982 Tom left his life on the road with Bauer and
assumed the position of Sales Manager for Crossroads Audio in Dallas, handling
all equipment sales, as well as serving as project manager for their sound and
lighting installations at that time. Today Toms
primary focus at A V Pro, Inc. is project management and general operations coordination.
