Amy
Jackson is Vice President and Sales Manager of A V Pro, Inc., focusing on project
design and systems sales. Having earned both Bachelors and Masters
degrees in Theatre Arts from Baylor University, Amy logged ten years as a high
school theatre instructor teaching in Waco, West, and Duncanville before coming
to A V Pro in 1990. Amy utilizes her twelve years experience in serving as a church
sound and lighting operator as well as her background in theatre and education
when designing systems and working with customers. She believes that all systems
should deliver a solid magical performance whether the venue is a house of worship,
a theatre, or a conference room and that all systems should be operator
friendly. Training sessions with Amy generally include hand-outs and lectures;
however, she will forgo the pop quiz as long as customers seem to be listening
closely.
Despite the heavy workload at A V Pro,
Amy manages to stay involved in theatre. In 1988 she helped to found Duncanville
Community Theatre (www.dctheatre.org) and
continues to serve as its Executive Director and President of the Board of Directors,
directing at least one show per year and overseeing all of the theatres
operations. In further support of theatre endeavors, Amy serves as a Director-at-Large
in USITT-Southwest and actively participates in technical workshops on sound and
lighting for the theatre. At the end of each day Amy goes
home to her two cats (Clementine & Floyd) and her beagle, Abigail. While their
performances probably need some direction, they dont buy equipment, rarely
have demanding scheduling conflicts, and can generally be satisfied with a little
food and attention. |
